You may not automatically think of golf when you think of Santa Barbara, but you should. The golf scene in Santa Barbara is excellent.
Santa Barbara county boasts six public 18-hole golf courses, four of which are within a half hour of downtown. Three of these four boast championship level play. The fourth is one of the busiest municipal courses in the country (and some years THE busiest). There are also excellent 9-hole courses with practice facilities open in the evenings.
Each of Santa Barbaras golf courses is nationally recognized in its own way. They each offer their own flavor and personality ranging from the formal sophistication of Glen Annie to the amazing beauty of Sandpiper to the timelessness of Santa Barbara Golf Club. | Ocean Meadows - This course boasts regulation play, excellent prices, professional instruction and practice facilities. It is centrally located in Goleta near UC S anta B arbara and the Camino Real Marketplace .
Ocean Meadows, a regulation 9-hole course, is an easy course to call home. It is located between UCSB and the Calle Real Marketplace. The course itself is surrounded by numerous trees and cut by Devereaux Creek. You might be in the middle of schools, homes and shopping, but you really don't get that feeling.

The relaxed atmosphere lends well to rounds with family and friends. Our new Pro-Shop is one of the finest in the area. We run specials not found in other shops or stores. Twin Lakes emphasis is on teachingboth beginning and advanced golfers. The teaching staff consists of three Class A PGA professionals, with more than 40 years of experience.The practice facilities are extensive and include the latest high-tech advances. The center is lighted at night with laser accurate yardage markers and electronic ball dispensers. |
